Facts
Client’s premises were entered without a warrant on the basis of a welfare check.
​
Thereafter, law enforcement discovered numerous marijuana plants and client was charged with cultivation of cannabis, a third-degree felony, punishable by up to five years’ incarceration.

Outcome
After negotiations with the state attorney client plead to a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge and was placed on probation.

Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance, Resisting with Violence, and Battery of a Law Enforcement Officer, Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds, DUI with Property Damage

Facts
Client was approached by law enforcement after they spotted the clients car parked “suspiciously”. After subsequent field sobriety exercises the client was arrested and their car searched where a weapon was found. The client was looking at three third-degree felony, each punishable by up to five years’ incarceration and a second-degree misdemeanor.

Outcome
After negotiations with the State, the client was admitted to drug court for the Possession of a Controlled Substance charge. The Resisting with Violence charge was reduced to Resisting Without Violence. The Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds, DUI with Property Damage and Battery charge were all dropped.
